Why I switched to soil blocks for seedlings

Soil blocks allow roots to air prune naturally which keeps starts compact and transplant-ready. Blend a blocking mix of compost, coir, sand, and trace minerals. Pre-wet the mix until it holds together like brownie batter, press firmly into the blocker, and eject onto a humidity tray.
Harden off blocks by reducing water for a few days before transplanting. I move them outside on warm afternoons and bring them back under cover at night.
