Pathogen Information

Anthracnose is casue by the fungal genus of Colletotrichum however, Apiognomonia and Gnomonia are commonly associated with it due to having similar symptoms.

  • Irregular brown or black spots on leaves.
  • lesions or cankers forming on bark resulting in shoot blight.
  • Sucken and discolored sppots form on fruits.
  • Can affect leaves, stems, and fruits.

Environmental Conditions

  • Temperature: 55-80°F
  • Humidity: Wet leaves and fruit for extend period of time.
  • Most effected species: Can effect a wide range of plants to included trees, shrubs and ever grasses.

  • Avoid overhead irrigation
  • Maintain proper plant spacing
  • Remove and destroy infected plant debris
  • Use disease-free seeds and resistant varieties
  • Mow yard while grass is dry
  • Keep leaves dry and improve air circulation
