History
The cultivation of galic dates back over 400 thousand year. Begining its roots in centeral asia it was primairly used as a medicine. Spreading by the silk road many culture use garlic as more of a medicine rather then food. the egyptians believe it increased strength and stamina for the builders and the Romans would use it as a cureall. Garlic was given a scientic backing in 1858 when it was discovered to have chemical that do infact have antimocrobial properties. It wasnt until the fall of the soviet union tha garlic had gained popularity in the united states. Known as the Russian penicillin it was a substitute during WW2 when penicillin was not avalibe.
Growing conditions

Needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Galic needs a cold winter to grow
Soil Conditions

Sandy Loam soil.
Water

1 to 2 inches of water per week.
Water the plants when the topsoil is dry to the touch.

Plant care
Sowing Seeds
Break the bulb into individual cloves and bury 4 to 6 inches deep. plant before the first frost and cover with straw to help retain moisture.
Germination
It can take 1 or 2 months for a green stim to breach the soil. in that time the roots are establishing.
Pruning
Removed the scapes before the fully bloom.
Harvest
Wait until the lower leaves start to turn yellow and die back. cut off waterings one week before a planned havrest.
Growing Tips
During winter let the snow melt water the soil only water if it is a dry winter and keep covered in straw.
Water lightly only on warmer days(winter)
