History
Green beans were First grown by native american 8,000 years ago. They were used in the 3 sister garden technique. while they are closely related to the common bean they do not have the same toxic compounds found in them and can be eaten raw. the earlier form of green beans were laborous requiring you to remove a string from the peel and they were still tough and fiberous. it wasnt until 1894 when the stringless been was made by Calvin N. Keeney, a horticulturist who became know as the father of stringless beans with the first of its kind Burpee's Stringless Green Pod.

Plant care
Sowing Seeds
Plant seeds about 1 inch deep. Spaceing will be determimined by the type, vines can be planted 6 to 8 inches apart as wher bushes might reguire 12 to 16 inches of space.
Germination
Seeds can take 7 to 10 days to germinate
Pruning
Prune back Tangling vines and excessive suckers to focus energy on to few clusters.
Cut back the denser foliage to allow for airflow and promote new growth.
Harvest
Harvest the green beans before the seeds begin to bulge. Harvest regularly to encourage new growth.
Growing Tips
Some types might reqire a cage for support and some might require a trellis, know the varity you are planting when choosing supports.
