Peas were one of the first crops ever grow. they date back to the middle east and are related to beans. unlike beans they do not conatin any toxic compounds so they are safe to eat fresh. They have maintained popularity throughout history due to a high protein content and there sweetness, they have been used in soups and stew around the world.

The pods should feel firm to the touch with the peas pressed againsr the pod. Harvest before a waxy coat develops.
