History
Potatoes were Cultivated by the Incans over 7000 years ago and acted as a staple crop due to there easy growing nature. When they spanish conquestidors brought it back the europe it was met with hesitation due to its resemblance to native toxic plants. It is unclear how potatoes gain popularity throughout europe but by the 1800s they resulted in the great potato famine that resulted in the death of over 1 million irish men.

Plant care
Sowing Seeds
Growing from seed will result in a differnt type. plant seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep. Plant seeds about 1 inch apart and cover with straw
potatoes grown from a tubar will result in the same type. Cut large pieces into 4 oz pices with 2 or more ears on the per section.
Germination
germination can take 2 to 4 weeks. keep soil moist during this time.
Pruning
Remove flowers to focus more on tubar growth. Remove any dead or diseased leaves.
Cut the top only if the vines begin to grow to large.
Harvest
harvest can happen in about 2 months however they will be young and tender allow for the plant to start dying back for a larger harvest
Growing Tips
planting cut tubars in ash can help pull moisture away and prevent rot.
