History
Rghubarb was first cultivated over 5000 years ago by china being used as a laxative it was well known for this and slow to move through the silk road. It did not make its way to europe until the 9th century and became highly prized as a laxative. it didnt gain culinary popularity until th 19th century using the stems in pies and preservatives when fruit were scarce, the leave have a toxic compund and should be discarded.

Plant care
Sowing Seeds
Plant rhubarb seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep. Plant seeds about 3 feet apart and cover with straw
Germination
Seeds can that 1 to 3 weeks to germinate. keep soil moist during this time.
Pruning
Cut back any flowers that start to form and focud the energy on the leaves
Harvest
Harvest can take 2 to 3 years. During the second year do a light harvest to encourage new growth in the following years
Growing Tips
Rhubarb can produce for well over a decade taking care can keep if growing for even longer.
Seperating the root cluster evert few years can help encourage newer growth that can least for decades longer.
