Rice was first cultivated over 9000 years ago By ancient chinese along the Yangtze River Valley. there are other thypes of rice such as the Oryza glaberrima(african rice) the asian rice quickly rised to popularity due to its high yeild. with over 1000 varities of rice grown world wide it is sutable for many dish.

Plant care
Sowing Seeds
Rice require a lot of water for grow. fill a 5 gallon bucket soil and compost leaving about 6 incvhes from the top of the bucket. lightly press the seed into the surface and flood the bucket. Leave atleast 2 inches of water on the soil at all times.
Germination
Germiations can take a few day if conditions are right. keep soil waterlogged during this time.
Pruning
Remove any overcrwoded bunches of rice, a bucket can hold 2 or 3 patties
Harvest
Cut back the stocks when the seeds are bulk of the grain has becomes golden brown then cut the stock back to the ground. allow the stocks time to dry before thresh the stalks to seperate the seeds husks.
Growing Tips
As the plant matures decrease the amount of water but keep it waterlogged during this time never letting it dryout.
