History
Thyme dates back to ancient sumaira where it was used as an antibiotic. it was later used by the egyptians during the embalming process for it anti microbial and antibacterial properties. The romans were the first to begin using it in a culinary manor flavoring chesses and wines with it. it quickly rose to fame and by the 16th century becoming a staple in the culinary art. It had gained a scientific backing for medicinal uses in 1719 when thymol was isolated and was used to clean hospitals during ww1 and even treat trench foot.

Water

1 to 2 inches of water per week.
Water the plants as the soil drys out.

Plant care
Sowing Seeds
Plant seeds on the surface of the soil lightly pressing them in. keep soil moist during this time.
Germination
Seeds can take 2 to 4 weeks to germinate
Keeps seed in a well bright area that recieves atleast 12 hours of sunlight per day and keep the soil moist.
Pruning
Cut spent flowers back 2 to 3 inches about the woody stems. If you harvest lavender do this in the spring.
Shape the bush and and cut back the the green growth to prevent woody legs from forming.
Harvest
harvesting should be done throughout the summer and fall. cut back the flowers to encourage new buds to form throughout the year.
