A Letter from the Founder

Welcome to the home gardener club. This site was made to connect gardeners with the local community and help grow a healthy America. This site is a paid site to ensure you the customer receive the best possible experience. Unlike many other websites that generate money from ad revenue this site will be funded by you and small local businesses. The only advertisement on this site will be for small local businesses that offer deals or new products on the shelves.

While this site is in initial stages there are many features that are lacking. I am Colorado based so I can visit my local shops and have them sign up but the fastest way to fill the local businesses sections is to spread the word to local businesses. A good example I like to give is M2 confections. They are a chocolate store that I found because I thought it was a jewelry store. While on a walk I saw the chocolate shine in the window and thought what a weird place for a jewelry store and no security. But I realized that was chocolate, the best chocolate I have ever had. Anyways, that is the kind of store I am looking for, your local secret spot that needs the attention of a community. So, candy shops, local butches, florists, or even nurseries stop by and spread the word.

With other features that need work that is where I have to ask a little more from you, give feedback to improve the website. As I was building this, I began to realize how much not only goes into the building of a website but how much plants, pests and overall information I want to add to the site. So before I add hundreds of plants to the website how should we organize the information. Between ornamental flowers, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains there are a lot of plants and a lot of ways to categories them. So, to best help users with that is where we want your feedback.

Now for what your subscriptions will cover. There are many projects that I have planned such as:

  • Ask a farmer podcast
  • Plant science hub
  • Disease and pathology testing center
  • Seeds for the future project
  • Recipes from your community
  • Backyard weather monitoring
  • Expanding local farmers markets to communities
  • And much more

but these projects cannot be completed without your support. While I will continue to improve this website as much as I can things such as a plant disease testing center and a fleet of truck to help increase the number of farmers markets will cost quite a bit. Some projects such as a weather monitoring station or the seed distribution project are going to be easier to start up so they will be something in the near future to look forward. So with the 2026 grow season just around the corner there is no better time to get started. Join us and your local community and see what is growing.
